MCAD Continuing Studies Silk Screen Class

As a birthday present, Grant treated me to any class I wanted to sign up for (art or sports related). I immediately started checking out classes on printmaking. I found an awesome class offered by Continuing Studies at MCAD. For four Saturday mornings, from 9:30am-12:30pm, I got to learn how to be a better silk screener! I loved it. Below are some examples.

Lips : 2 Color Freezer Paper Stencil
Animal Cookie Cutters : Rubylith and Opaque Markers on Acetate (Photo Emulsion)
Spiral Me (1 Screen) : Photo Emulsion Blend Pull (Orange to Blue)
Spiral Me (2 Screens) : Photo Emulsion Blend Pull (Blue to Green) and Black Key Pull
Venison : 3 Color Photo Emulsion (I’m a vegetarian, but Grant wants to hang this piece at his hunting camp. Go figure. 🙂 )

Awesome Projects for Graphic Design Class

I came across this site while I was designing my Commercial Art Course (soon to be called Graphic Design). Great projects for Photoshop and Illustrator. I have yet to try out the “Smiley Face” project, but I might have some of my advanced students try it. Below are two examples from this project. Cool huh?

New Look – New Layout – Bonus Content

Welcome! If you are a returning visitor, the site does look different! I’m hoping that the new layout is also easier to use.

Some Changes

  • Student Galleries – These may be found under “HS Teaching Site” and underneath the given course.
  • Old Work – I have removed some ultra old work but kept some goodies under “Past Work”.
  • Recent Work – This is brand new work that I am in the process of continuing. Check back to see my progress.
  • Blog – Actually only cosmetically changed! All the old posts are here. If there are any past dead links please let me know! I’m working hard to make sure all links go to their new homes.

Can’t Find Something? Let me know! Also, let me know how you like the new look!

Thanks for visiting!
